  1. Running!  The previous person is right, it's a great way to increase lung capacity and stamina.

Try using light weights to increase the strength in your shoulder cuff.   I really neglected to that last season and my cuff went out on me mid season.  Do lifts with 4lb weights and gradually work your way up higher, focusing on your dominate arm.

Rowing machines are really beneficial as, are the weight machines where you stand parrallel to it, and pull a cord to your hip.   I have no idea what that's called, but you can do it at home with free weights.

This might sound ridiculous, but one really great core workout is basically doing backstroke on land.  Lie on your back, clench your abs, and lift your legs about six to eight inches of the ground and make a scissor motion.  You'll feel it FAST.

Also: Lunges, crunches, squats, and leglifts.

  2. as much as i hate to say it........ girl you gotta run!!! also lift weights, do push ups, sit ups, bicycles, bleachers........ you know all the stuff that sucks........ sorry there is nothing funner to do
