  1. weight training. and lots and lots of push ups

  2. You need to work on cardio exercises.  Start by building up the amout of time you can run/bike without feeling overly tired.  By upping your cardio exercises, you will feel better in the water and not feel like you need to sub out every goal.  Also, don't focus weight trainning on muscle building, you want to do more reps with less weight than more weight less reps.  Work on your lats and do butterfly style weight tranning, meaning using weights in the butterfly motion or above your head straight up.  When it comes to working your legs, work on your quads so that your eggbeater is strong.  Work on your calves to prevent cramping and charlie-horses when tredding.  I've got plenty of in water stuff too if you want to hit me up for that.

  3. I'd have to say that water skills are the most important to focus on.  If lap swimming gets too boring, work on leg exercises and treading or ball handling.

I'd also say basketball helps the most for 1on1 skills in water polo.  Make sure you're not trying to practice too much on your polo skills when you're playing or everybody will get mad when you shove them while they're shooting.
