Question:

Water Softener Issue: Keeps Overflowing with Water, uses LOADS of Salt.?

My Water Softener has been Over Flowing lately, since we came back from a Trip last week.

I put a 40 lb Bag of salt in it the other day, and it is Already Empty!! It is Now Full of Water, all the way to the Top.

And (like I said) it sometimes overflows with Water. It has an OverFlow Hose, close to the Top. But the Water seeps up so Quickly, that it goes Above it, and Overfills, Spilling to the Floor.

What kind of Maintenance do I need to do?!?

Should I try to regenerate WITHOUT Salt?!?

  1. There is leakage on the controller check valve in the salt tank or need to adjust its float level to close at level below overflow level .

loose the pipe inside the tank , clean the valve seat and check for smooth movement of the float . install it again I hope this will solve the problem , good luck .

  2. never heard of that system , so here goes, is your salt not dissolving therefore blocking the system ,i was always told that washing soda was the best to soften up hard water,
