Question:

Water Stess index?

I'm trying to do research, but I cannot find the database that lists DIA/Q by country (not region, I found that already). If anyone can help me track down a spreadsheet, or data set that shows this ratio, country by country, and a link to it, I'd appreciate it greatly!

Definition: We consider the domestic and industrial sectors (DI/Q), irrigated agriculture (A/Q), and their combination (DIA/Q) on a mean annual basis. Each ratio determines the degree to which humans interact with sustainable water supply and provides a local index of water stress. Values on the order of 0.2 to 0.4 indicate medium to high stress, whereas those greater than 0.4 reflect conditions of severe water limitation

  1. I don't know where to find it but I would take those calculations with a grain of salt.  Water availability is always scare mongered.  Denmark for example is listed very high stress yet has very little problems with water in reality.  The only country that can't generate its own water supply is Kuwait and it has to therefore utilize desalination.  This is a big blue planet because it has trillions of gallons.  There can be problems with distribution especially if it is related to third world countries, but the problems are generally overblown in my opinion.  I am reading a book right now that might have it and if I can find reference to the database, I will add it later.
