  1. Don't drink distilled water.  Distilled water has nothing in it; absolutely NOTHING.  If you drank distilled water, it would leach the minerals out of your bones cuz of osmosis.  In fact, people who consume soft water as opposed to hard water over their lifetime can have more brittle bones.  Hard water, similar to spring water, depending on the source, has dissolved minerals in it.  In short, drinking distilled water is not good for you.

Would it make you lose weight?  Possibly...seeing how the distilled water leaches the minerals out of your bones, they would be a lot lighter.  But I doubt you would want to make yourself susceptible to osteoporosis and fractures and a hunchback.

Drink the spring water.  If you replace every fluid you drank with plain ol' water, you will lose weight.  Water has no calories.  Consider that, as opposed to juices (high in calories and sugars and carbs), milk (calories and fat), sodas (high in calories, sugars, carbs, and chemicals), etc...yes, you'll lose weight by reducing the amount of calories you consume....not cuz you just drink water.

Even if you took 100 calories less than what you should have each day, over time, you will see a weight reduction.

  2. Distillation is the process in which water is boiled, evaporated and the vapour condensed. Distilled water is free of dissolved minerals and, because of this, has the special property of being able to actively absorb toxic substances from the body and eliminate them. Studies validate the benefits of drinking distilled water when one is seeking to cleanse or detoxify the system for short periods of time (a few weeks at a time). Fasting using distilled water can be dangerous because of the rapid loss of electrolytes (sodium, potassium, chloride) and trace minerals like magnesium, deficiencies of which can cause heart beat irregularities and high blood pressure. Cooking foods in distilled water pulls the minerals out of them and lowers their nutrient value.

Distilled water is an active absorber and when it comes into contact with air, it absorbs carbon dioxide, making it acidic. The more distilled water a person drinks, the higher the body acidity becomes. According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, "Distilled water, being essentially mineral-free, is very aggressive, in that it tends to dissolve substances with which it is in contact. Notably, carbon dioxide from the air is rapidly absorbed, making the water acidic and even more aggressive. Many metals are dissolved by distilled water."

There is a correlation between the consumption of soft water (distilled water is extremely soft) and the incidence of cardiovascular disease. Cells, tissues and organs do not like to be dipped in acid and will do anything to buffer this acidity including the removal of minerals from the skeleton and the manufacture of bicarbonate in the blood.

The longer one drinks distilled water, the more likely the development of mineral deficiencies and an acid state. I have done well over 3000 mineral evaluations using a combination of blood, urine and hair tests in my practice. Almost without exception, people who consume distilled water exclusively, eventually develop multiple mineral deficiencies.

Those who supplement their distilled water intake with trace minerals are not as deficient but still not as adequately nourished in minerals as their non-distilled water drinking counterparts even after several years of mineral supplementation.

The ideal water for the human body should be slightly alkaline and this requires the presence of minerals like calcium and magnesium.

Distilled water tends to be acidic and can only be recommended as a way of drawing poisons out of the body. Once this is accomplished, the continued drinking of distilled water is a bad idea.

Water filtered through reverse osmosis tends to be neutral and is acceptable for regular use provided minerals are supplemented.

I think you are better off with spring water.

  3. why? if you just drink water than juice and soft drinks, you can lose weight by drinking both.

  4. Spring water is ground water that has been purified.

Distilled water is water that has been boiled into vapor and then condensed back to water, and is therefore absolutely pure water - nothing but H2O.

Spring water is generally better for you because it still contains the natural minerals and nutrients that good (and good tasting) water contains.

However, most companies that make distilled water for the purpose of drinking it will reintroduce minerals and nutrients into it if for no other reason than to make it taste more pleasant. If you'd like to drink distilled water, I'd recommend "Smart Water." Not only is it distilled, so it's absolutely pure, but they do add some good minerals back in so it doesn't taste too weird, AND they add electrolytes, which help you stay hydrated better and longer.

Neither spring nor distilled water will make you lose weight faster than the other. However, water is an excellent choice of beverage if you're looking to lose weight. It's much better for you than sodas or sports drinks. I used to drink about three or four cans of soda every day. When I switched to drinking water, it was hard to do, but I've lost 5 pounds just from that alone so far.

  5. It doesn't matter what kind you drink as long as you drink alot of water.
