  1. Water zones are regions where aquifers (underground chambers with water in them) exist. They are fairly common and water wells are drilled into the aquifers. My well is only 17ft. deep while a friend in the Texas Hill Country had to drill 275ft. into the Edwards aquifer to get water.


  2. I also know that water zones can refer to levels in oceans or other bodies of water depending on light or life forms. For example, the photic zone is the part that has enough sunlight that photosynthesis can occur. The aphotic zone has little sunlight. Some other zones include the intertidal, littoral, and abyssal zones.
