Now I fully understand that we need water to sustain life on earth... Life as WE KNOW IT ......but can somebody please tell me why in the search for life in outerspace .. we seem to tend to rule out planets that do not have water or a history of ever having water as being able to sustain life ?Is it NOT possible for there to be a life-form that has evolved elsewhere in an absence of water.. therefore not requiring water at all ?WE need water .. but other life-forms elsewhere ( if the exist ) may not ?(to the science boffins who may be able to help me understand please use basic terms I do not have a scientific mind per se.. just an interest)
