  1. Not quite. It means they melt it down (which takes energy) and cast the resulting liquid plastic into new goods, some of them new water bottles.

It's much more efficient to buy a sturdier nalgene bottle, wash it as needed, and reuse it over and over.

  2. Please refrain from drinking bottled water. It takes 1000 to decompose in landfills, if not recycled. Also, it costs 10 000 times more than tap water :s

  3. i think that if you recycle water bottle it will make it flat and turn it into something else like if u recycle a cardboard it can turn to like binders and something else

  4. Your question was answered, so I will soapbox for a moment.  Please don't buy bottled water.  Invest in a SIGG.  They are aluminum, lightweight, and will last years and years.  My family loves our SIGGs.  Another poster suggested Nalgene, but many of them are toxic, so you have to be careful which type you buy.

  5. turn the clock back, all liquids used to be sold in glass bottles, when you purchased a bottle soda you also paid a returnable deposit on the bottle, whey where washed, relabled and used again and again

  6. I too am going to get on my soap box.  Please don't drink bottled water for reasons already mentioned.  If there is something wrong with your tap water, ie bleach taste, filter your own water with a Brita pitcher.  Then use a SIGG that is reusable.  Don't use your bottled water bottle over and over.  They aren't meant to be washed and washing them doesn't remove all bacteria.  There have been several studies about the germs on water bottles!

  7. I agree with Maryn and jd. Even if it gets recycled it still uses energy so its better to buy water from a machine at the store or get a faucet filter and reuse your own blottle. Youll save alot of money in the long run.

  8. They just cannot put new water in it plastic absorbs any liquid
