To those ladies who's water broke before hand, was your baby very active when this happened or was s/he calm? The reason why I ask is last night as I was laying in bed, my little boy was punching and pushing and kicking so hard, he was putting so much pressure in my stomach, I thought something was going to have to go. I was wondering how your water broke? Thank you. I'm 38 wks and 5 days

  1. I don't remember my baby being especially active when my water broke. I had just had my membranes stripped at 40 weeks. I went to the bathroom and as I was pushing to pass urine, it felt like a water balloon exploded inside of me. It didn't hurt. I was still leaking 10 hours later!  It kept slowly coming out after the initial explosion. After my water broke, I was getting contractions every 2-3 minutes and they were very irregular. My baby was born 12 hours later by c-section!

  2. My water never broke before labor.  Did you know that taking 200 IU or more of vitamin E will help prevent your water breaking early?  I have had four pregnancies and my water never broke until I was pushing.  I also took plenty of vitamin E.  I read about it in a book.

  3. My water broke and I wasn't having any contractions that I could feel (I obviously was because I was dilated to a 4 when I got to the hospital.)  My baby wasn't being more active than usual.  I had him 3 weeks early.  I also know I wasn't feeling more uncomfortable than usual because I went to Target with my sister and my water broke when I walked into the store (thankfully it wasn't a HUGE gush!)
