Water coolers?

Can anyone tell me what those water coolers are called with the pebbles in them?

I give up.......I must lead a sheltered life or something.....I have never seen a water cooler with pebbles in them........

why would they have pebbles?   wouldn't that block the flow of water out of the spigot?

I don't get it..........

Dirty water cooler, you can even add cleaned pebbles to your water cooler and call it "rocky", "tommy" or "pinky".
