  1. Dragons rarely dig just to dig... They may dig along the edges of the enclosure if trying to get out - especially if the enclosure is too small. For an adult, you need a nice sized enclosure... A 4'L x 2'W x 4'H enclosure is minimum - a better size would be 5'-6'L x 3'-4'W x 5'-7'H. Just for the information.

However, if you have a female, she could be gravid (carrying eggs). The dragon would have to be 18" or longer snout to tail length (or about 5"-6" or longer snout to vent length if missing some tail) to possibly be gravid if she is wild caught. A captive bred female can, and probably will, lay earlier. A female dragon will lay eggs without a male - the eggs will just be infertile, and thus will not hatch, without a male.

If your dragon is old enough to lay eggs (see above) you can s*x it like this:

    Female:

A gravid female will become bigger around the belly but not necessarily huge. She may lose her appetite to some extant or completely.

If you suspect that you have a gravid female, be sure to provide her with a pure (phosphorus-free and vitamin D3-free) calcium supplement at every feeding along with a good, unexpired UVB light source; eggs take much calcium and you do not want her taking this calcium from her blood and bones. She will need a "laybox" which can be made with a plastic tub/box filled with moist, but not soaked, soil at least six inches deep. Ordinary, additive-free soil purchased at a garden supply store or dug up in a pesticide-free area can be used; if you are worried about "bad" bugs, you can bake it in an oven at 350°F for 15-30 minutes. The laybox is to provide her with an area to dig and lay her eggs in... If a gravid female cannot find a suitable place to lay, she can become egg-bound which can kill her.

  2. Sometimes they can do it too keep warm....if its a female u wanna ask urseitselfshe can be pregnant. generally just like bearded dragons they just like to dig.... is she shedding because they can get really itchy maybe this could be the reason, well what ever it is i cant see it being a problem

  3. u obviously have never watched the great escape- u should be worried when he starts discarding of soil down his trouser leg!
