Water flow regulation

Good morning,I have a Autoflo Humidifier model 250 on my 20 year old furnace. Foryears I have had two problems: The water flow comes out so fast itoverflows onto the floor - I have tried to regulate this over the yearswith the saddle valve (I read in a installation manual that this is notappropriate). Second, when the selenoid valve closes, it makes a loudCLUNK that resonates through the house. Probably due to the highwater volume going through and what seems to be a quick shut off by theselenoid. Can you help me? The manual instructions say the valve has ametering o*****e in the valve - would I see this if I took it apart? Do they make a selenoid valve that you can adjust the water flow or putin a smaller o*****e? For the loud knock, do they make a valve thatcloses slowly instead of rapidly? (Although I'm thinking if I canlower the water flow the knock may go away) .Rich
