  1. It takes approximately 50 kilowatt hours of electicity to produce an amount of hydrogen with the energy equivalency of one gallon of gasoline.

Any gasoline internal combustion engine can be converted to run on hydrogen at relatively low cost.

  2. The hydrostar adds are nothing but technical smoke and mirrors, it appears as if they are making an attempt to electrolyze gaseous hydrogen and oxygen out of water which is simple enough. But.....the hytronics module? A charge/ discharge monitor? Electrolysis isn't a miracle, it's just an anode a chathode and some plumbing. Or a PEM. Problem is it doesn't tell you where you're going to get the electricity used to convert the water into it's constituent gases.

The adds ooze old school circus side show spectacle advertisment, like the people won't care how it works if you throw in a few proprietary words, they'll be wowed by the 'miracle of technology'. In theory you could do this, but why, PEMs are more efficient. Why electrolyze H2 in your car and add the extra weight of water, why not have a purpose specific system, electrolyze the hydrogen at home and convey it to your car.

This is why people like myself who are actually engineers in the field are having a hard time convincing people of the viability of the hydrogen economy because the average person can't take it seriously after such ads. It makes hydrogen fueled cars sound like a scam on par with hoverboards, x-ray glasses and do it yourself light saber kits.

Just wait for the FCX or FCHV to come out next year and try to get on a lease list. The technology is here, someone just decided it a good idea to come to the party in the back door. Think I'm kidding look it up.

Vectrix scooter, Honda FCX, Toyota FCHV, honda home electrolysis units. It's going to be expensive at first but then again people spend 25000 on a new kitchen or spent about the same when plasma screens first came out.

wonder who is lying to you?

  4. this was invented almost 100 years ago

the Petroleum Industry killed the inventor and are sitting on the design.

  5. Not sure, heard of a Hyrogen biofuel car. Hydrohen known as big H and combine with another H. H+H=Extra energy with a result of H2O

  6. i think Honda or Toyoda is making one
