Water/ice maker runs on it's own

Question

water is forcefully pouring out of despenser when switched to water. We switched it to "ice" and motor will kick on and shoot ice every so often. The tab is not being pushed in during these running cycles. Recently changed the filter and refered to trouble shooting in the manual. It said to drain the water out for 3 mintues ( aprox. 1.5 gallons ) this didn't work. Any suggestions....
