Hi,

Thanks for helping me in previous question *Motorcycle not used for 3 years - Service?*.

However I am finding that water might have gone inside engine since the engine oil is coming out as white.

Please suggest what should I do now ?

Thanks in Advance.

  1. Get the engined opened up by a mechanic and have it cleaned thoroughly.....means real thorough....then use fresh engine oil and go happy riding.

  2. change the oil/filter,run it for a bit, then change it again, may have just condensation from sitting so long,

    good luck

  3. change the oil several times until it is looks clean and before you try to start it take out the spark plugs and crank it over incase there is any water still in the combustion chambers

  4. I would be REAL tempted to open up the crankcase to check on that. If there was water in there, there could be rust too!

Plus, opening up the crank is a great way to make sure it's not only emptied out, but squeaky clean before you put it back together and fill it with clean oil! It could be the difference between getting another summer out of it, or getting another 10 years out of it.

Don't forget to change the filter too!

If it's overhead cam, take the cam cover off, and clean that out too.

If you find rust in EITHER place, you'll need to take the head off and check for rust in the cylinders.

If not, any water that might be in the cylinders will flow out the exhaust port the first time you get it to fire up (might need to clean the plugs a couple times)

  5. ever one has come up with good answers so read them all and you will find out what to do

  6. flush the engine completely. My mate used to drain the oil then fill it with kerosene and slowly work the kick start but don't start the bike. He would then drain it and repeat till it was plain kerosene coming out. If it is electric start you could put the bike in gear and walk it around.

There may be a commercial product available for this.
