Water in shower takes a long time to get hot but the tub right besides it, does not what do i do for shower?

Need more info, but off the top I'd first check the hot water faucet in the shower. Is it opening completely (or as much as the cold?). If it is I'd next check for blockage or lime buildup in the hot water side of the feed pipes that exceeds the cold water pipes. Beyond that, a lot will depend on how accessible the shower plumbing is.
