Question:

Water logged bedroom carpet coming up from foundation of house!?

We had a Tropical Storm today with a lot of rain. I noticed the carpet in my bedroom was wet. I pulled it up a little bit and there was water on the foundation (concrete) under the carpet. It wasn't coming from the window. I noticed a crack but very thin and looked like a good amount of water was close to the wall. Any advice? Should I start calling contractors, my insurance company, or just try to seal it with something? House is 3 years old and this has never happened before even through hurricanes a couple years ago. We really don't know where to start!

  1. I would call your contractor and the insurance co.One or the other should be able to solve your problem.

  2. I am having same problem too and am in Sanford, FL.  Due to TS Fay, I came home early today to discover same thing.  I am calling my insurance company first thing in the morning.  My house is almost 4 years old.  You should probably start by calling your insurance company and they will probably send someone out to inspect the damage and go from there.

  3. OMG, I live in Deltona, FL and I have the same problem. Who is the builder of your home. We will be calling the insurance co in the morning. I have a friend that also lives in Deltona, same builder as mine and she is having the same problem too.
