Water pressure from shower

I am on the top floor of a block of flats in spain.

both the hot and cold water to the sinks seem ok but when i recently removed the bath and fitted a shower in its place i cannot get the hot water to come out more than a trickle, the cold comes out ok, i have an immersion heater in the cupboard in the bedroom which is only about 2ft higher than the shower head it appears to work by the cold water pressure going into the tank and pushing the hot water out , i have thought of buying a power pump to fit on the outlet side of the tank.

or should i fit it in tthe kitchen after the stop tap where the mains water comes in .

if any helpfull person can advise i would really appreciate it.

ps the other thing that i am not sure about is all the power pumps ive looked at have 4 pipes 2 for hot 2 for cold but ive only one tank (no cold water tank) is this the wrong type of pump ?,

so if anyone can tell me where to fit it can they also tell me what type of pump to buy.

p.p.s im not after a power shower just enough pressure for an average shower.

regards.

  1. what part of spain

  2. The hot water pressure should be the same as the cold or you have a blockage.Turn off the water/take the valves apart then turn the water on slowly to wash out your hot water pipe(carefully as once it is unblocked the full pressure will come out.Once that is done(reassemble valves) remove the shower head and flush that out.

  3. If you changed the faucets I would start there,  there could something blocking it on the hot side.

  4. You have not got enough head of hot water. You should have got a power shower. If you use a pump it get complicated it not just a case of a pump.

  5. Have you removed the shower head and then the rubber seal then you should see a plastic or metal piece that helps save water by limiting the water flow, if you remove that and put the rubber seal back you should get better hot water results. I have lived in lots of apartments where I had to remove that govern-er to get a decent flow in the shower.
