sounds like a plugged drain hole or tube try cleaning out the drain holes,

If it is a GE or Hotpoint ref the drain line is blocked up and here is how to clear remove the bottom crisper from the freezer and look a the back wall you will see a area at the bottom full of ice, remove the ice and the hole that is there pour some hot water in it and use your finger like a plunger I have done this hundreds of times.
