  1. (20 m)(9.80665 m/s²) = 196.133 N·m/kg =

    196 W·s/kg

    (196 W·s/kg)(0.746 hp/W) =

    (146 hp·s/kg)(1 kg/L) =

    (146 hp·s//L)(1 min/60 s) =

(2.44 hp·min/L) or about 2.5 hp for every L/min of flowrate.

1 L/min is a hefty rate for domestic use when you have a tank.  You could probably get by quite nicely with a 1 hp or 1.5 hp pump.

  2. a 6inch trash pump you can rent them at Equipment rental store for 300+ a day

  3. If you have wind and don't worry about the neighbors, there is the obvious. A windmill. If you want something less vertical and have enough cloudless periods, you can use solar to run a pump to a storage tank. Anything else would be industry standard. There are a huge array of slim electric pumps for any size well casing as well as diesel pumps for areas where power is not available. Then of course you can always hand pump to a storage tank if you are a purist and have decent health. If you had a moving stream or river with a good drop I would suggest a hydraulic ram but you can't really adapt that to a well.
