  1. Please, please do not waste

any more money on chemicals, yet!

Take a clean jar or ziplock baggie.

Reach down at least 10 inches with container shut, open once underwater to fill.

Take to ACE Hardware, pool store, anywhere that professionaly tests pool water.

Most do not charge for the test.

Then follow to the letter, what they tell you to do.

Of course the point is they test then sell you chemicals.

Not required to buy after test.

    Most importantly clean the filter.

This may need to be done several times, until the water

    clear up.

I have also used Yellow Out (not Yellow Treat)with calcium based shock.

Works everytime! (If the other chemicals are balance first.)

  2. Hi, this is quite normal, I assume you have just filled or re-filled your pool, or you have left it go for a while. In all these cases you will need to 'bomb" your pool with chlorine, usually around 10 litres of liquid chlorine for swimming pools of an average size ( say 25ft long by 12ft wide by 5ft deep). You will need to keep an eye on your Ph level and do not swim in the pool until the chlorine level is within a safe range.

  3. you dont need to refill i work at a pool store and if its chlorine just over shock the water with some liquid chlorine and follow up with some clarifier when it gets to the milky-cloudy stage. if you do not put enough chlorine in at one time you will only partially kill it you want to overkill so you get everything. also brush the walls and floor really well to help break it loose from it so it will kill it quicker. its stupid to drain if you have a vinyl liner it can shrink if all the waters gone. not a great idea.
