Water still seems to be in the Washing Machine after use?

After I use the the Washing Machine I can shake the drum and hear water below. It is a top loading washer. The timer did get stuck once and was running for an extended period of time. Outside of that it works properly. Should I be concerned with this?

  1. As long as the water is not inside the inner drum where you put your cloths, then its normal, as there is always about a gallon or water or so under the drum, between the inner basket and the pump and hoses, as a former appliance repair person, I know this for a fact as when working on washers, i always had to make sure to catch the water when changing a pump or drain hose when working on it or the water would go all over the customers flloor!

If there is water visible inside the cloths basket when you load it then you may have a kinked drain hose or something but again as long as its not inside your inner drum or cloths basket, your ok.
