Water tastes salty

i live in Davis CA and I just came back from a trip in Russia for a few weeks. As soon as I got home, I went to wash my face and the water was soo salty. I figured it would be fine if I let the water run for a few minutes but It still didn't work. Do I need to change the water softner?

no need to change your filter. Filters work by letting water soak in with the salt you put in them. And sence you were gone for awhile the water in the filter got a build up of salt in it. Take a few showers or do a bunch of laundry and that should fix it.
