Waterbottle question!?

Question

We have the crittertrail outlook for one of our hamsters. We had him for less than a week and not touching his bottle. I attaches another one but im not sure if he drinks from it either? Any suggestions?

i had the same problem when i got a new cage for my hamster what i did was took the hamsters water bottle off and when he was awake i put the drinking tip of the water bottle in front of him and let him drink from it then he noticed it and he drinked out of it hope i helped.

My guess is that the hamster is a bit confused and still getting used to his new cage. This happens to hamsters when introduced to new environment since they are creatures of habit. I am sure he would figure out himselves how to use the bottle in a few days, until then leave a water dish in his cage and make sure that there is always a drop of water hanging from the tip of the hamster bottle so that your hamster gets attracted to it and learns to drink from the bottle.

i had the same problem when i bought my gerbils for about the first and half of the second week they never used the water bottle

they will learn eventually or maybe htey have been drinkin and u just never see them

did they have a water bottle in their cage in the petstore? if so then they probably know how to use it

what i did was i out my finger oon the spout so they saw water come out or if the went under it i would squirt a little water out of it on them then they noticed water came out so they started to drink
