Waterboys in Ireland??

I am traveling to North and South Ireland Feb 14-March 3. I would love to see Mike Scott or the Waterboys. I have heard Mike and/or the band sometimes will play in a pub unannounced. Anyone know if thie is true and what pub(s) they might frequent? I am a loonnng time fan from Canada.

I know Mike Scott spent a lot of time in Spiddal in County Galway around the time of Fishermans Blues but I have no idea where he is these days
