Waterfalls????

Question

How do you know the depth of water under a water fall? Just curious if there was a way to know (Watching my love on Man Vs. Wild).

find a LOONG stick, and put it in the water and see how deep it goes

  and that show is really fake, you can find all the videos on youtube.

  like, theres one where he has to walk across a brige of hard lava rock or some kind of rock...well, thanks to cleverly placed camera angles, and some acting on his part, you dont see the HIGHWAY!!!!!! about 50 feet away.  not exactly the grand adventurer, is he?   some guy realized he lived by that exact lava bridge thingy, and went out and filmed himself crossing it (with a h**l of a lot of ease) then panned around to show the highway....yeah. i havent watched that show since seeing that vid.
