Waterloo Dock in lead of the lineup for the Discover Racing Day At Lingfield Park Selling Stakes at Lingfield
The Class 6 Discover Racing Day At Lingfield Park Selling Stakes are to get staged at Lingfield over six furlongs on Wednesday, 4th April. The £1, 704 event has assembled a lineup of five three-year and older thoroughbreds.
From among the lineup, the entry who has raced the most at Lingfield and has one there too is Waterloo Dock, Hunting Lion’s seven-year-old bay gelding out of mare Scenic Air. He has predominantly raced at Lingfield throughout his career and the eight starts
that Waterloo Dock broke into this season were all held at Lingfield too.
He failed quite miserably in his seasonal debut but did not wait for long to post the much awaited victory. On 18th January, Waterloo Dock won the Play Roulette At Bluesq.Com/Casino Apprentice Handicap at Lingfield over six furlongs.
Waterloo Dock was paired up with Danny Brock and the two led the runner up of the race, Do More Business, by two and a half length. Coming at terms with the third position after the winner was the 11/4 favourite, Chjimes.
He then came second in the Blue Square Sprint Series Round 5 Handicap (Qualifier) (Division I) at Lingfield over six furlongs on 4th February. The race was won by the 3/1 favourite, Cut The Cackle.
Waterloo Dock’s second victory of the new season was in the Blue Square Sprint Series Round 7 Handicap (Qualifier) (Division I) at Lingfield over six furlongs on 18th February. Missing the victory by a shoulder’s margin was the 7/2 joint favourite,
Cliffords Reprieve, while finishing the race third was Valmina.
The other joint favourite, Joe Le Taxi, ended the race ninth.
His next three races at Lingfield remained winless, a twelfth, third and then a fourth position.
Another entry who has recently won but not at Lingfield is Gin Twist, Invincible Spirit’s three-year-old bay filly out of mare Winding. Out of the four starts, she bagged two victories, one at Kempton and the other at Wolverhampton.
Gin Twist was the ½ favourite winner of the Watch The Big match At Rileys Selling Stakes on 29th March at Wolverhampton over five furlongs. Paired up with Richard Kingscote, the winner led the runner up, El McGlynn, by just half a length.
Waterloo Dock does have a competitive lineup to face today but even that does not impact his chances of victory today.
