Watheeq to pull back form for the 32Red Handicap
The three-year-old bay gelding, Watheeq, has been impressive lately and thus has been sent with the 3 to 1 shot for the Class 4 32Red Handicap at Lingfield over a mile and two furlongs on Monday, 13th August. Eight three-year-old contestants have gathered for the £4,528 prize money.
Street Cry’s three-year-old bay gelding started racing in 2011 and credited three races against his name. The bay gelding won the seasonal debut on 25th May, 2012 in the PHS Washroom Services Handicap (Betfair 10 Furlong Flat Series Qualifier) at Haydock over a mile and 2 ½ furlongs.
Paired up with jockey, Paul Hanagan, the three-year-old won by a slight neck’s margin. He did not burst into speed right after leaving the sixth gate rather held up and became prominent only when the last three furlongs remained to be raced over. Switched left inside the final furlong and escaped defeat from the favourite runner-up of the race, Fennell Bay.
Coming at terms with the third position was, Chelsea Mick.
The next stop for the Roger Varian trained was in the FGS Access Handicap on 29th June, 2012 at Folkestone over a mile and 1 ½ furlong. Sent as the favourite, the three-year-old out of mare, Mehthaaf, settled as the runner-up while riding with jockey, Neil Callan.
The race was won by, Franco Is My Name, while filling in the third spot was, Whitby Jet.
Almost as if going down the ladder, the Hamdan Al Maktoum owned ranked third in the third outing of the season in the Napoleons Casinos Sheffield Handicap on 26th July, 2012 at Doncaster over a mile and 2 ½ lengths.
The race was won by Keepax by the margin of just half a length and he set Instrumentalist, second.
The mount of jockey, Tadhg O’Shea, reserved the third position behind the winner.
The Shadwell Farm LLC bred will race with rider, Paul Hanagan, today, and the two have drawn the first gate to break from. His fourth outing of the season will grant him the second success.
He will need to look out for Instrumentalist, Halling Dancer and Westwiththenight.
