  1. Yard work and mowing lawns for the neighbors, doing odd jobs for people, or washing cars.  During the winter shoveling snow is a good option.  I was a lifeguard at a local pool and taught swim lessons starting at 13, but I had to take classes for that.  Babysitting is also an option if your child is responsible enough.

  2. offer to mow lawns, walk dogs, pick weeds from gardens, babysit, do a paper route, help your own parents around the house!  you should be concerned more with your school work and being a kid and doing chores at home.  When I was 13, I mowed my lawn every weekend, babysat for my neighbors, and worked in their gardens pulling weeds. Good luck!

  3. First off, many states do not allow people under 14 to even legally be "hired", and even if you are, there are strict limits on how much time you can work.

I would see if your parents would pay for any odd jobs. Sure, this is the classic answer to your question, but it usually leads to a "job".

If you are more of an entrepenuer, you could try to "open a business". I know people that mow lawns or do other services for neighbors, and get a good amount doing so.

    Just my suggestions : P

  4. I got my son a job cleaning a rich lady's house twice a week off www.craigstlist.com. It 's the same stuff he does at home only he gets paid. I will be ther the whole time so it's no big deal. He only gets to work for three hours tops. I don't see why people think it's such a big deal to teach kids responsibilty and the value of a dollar these days. Do you? At 14 you are able to get a worker's permit for a regular job like McDonald's or something. Even then you are only allowed to work for I think 6 hours a week during the summer.

  5. maybe a concession stand at a community pool as a summer job. also maybe ask a school counselor

you can get a work permit from your school counselor I'm not sure about 13 but I know at the age of 14 you can work but you need a work permit.

  6. How many times do we have to say this...it is illegal for a business to hire anyone under 16 (they cannot put them on payroll, and all employess are required to be on payroll therefore you cannot legally be hired). You can walk dogs, wash cars, mow lawns, shovel snow, rake leaves, weed gardens, etc.

  7. Whatt does that have to do with  Pregnancy & Parenting or Grade-Schooler???

  8. You can't even work yet..

You can start to work when you're 15 or 16.

    Most likely 16.

  9. You are too young for a job. Spend the time you would have spent working on your schoolwork instead, so that when you are old enough you are a desirable employee.

  10. There are some jobs for younger adolescence where I live. Like having a paper route that is what I did when I was 13. Also the local amusement park hires 14 yr. old over the summer. However these jobs are not always available. Maybe babysitting or working around the neighborhood would be a better option.

  11. Babysit or mow the lawn of your neighbors and charge money for it.
