Males or females spend very little time with there consciousness in the present.

We are almost always thinking about past events or rehearsing what we are to do in the future.

I think that is how we make sense of a complex world, learning from past experiences and thinking about the best actions in the future. At any moment we spend only a few seconds in the present.

I am an older man and I strive to sleep as much as possible, so as to keep my thinking to a minimum, which I find confusing.
