  1. Buy British or you'll get shafted on the currency spread !

  2. firstly you should be well versed with investing into shares ....secondly you should have capital with you to invest....i have this site called www.utvi.com which will help you with investing smartly and fetch better returns....

  3. Unless you have a considerable amount of money invested I would never invest in shares. Immediately i have capital to spare it goes into property. Either let or long term vacant.

I bought a house 5 years ago in stoke on Trent for £14,500 I've had £360 per month rent from the day I bought it and it's now worth £72,000. Before Christmas it was probably worth £75,000 but I'm not crying about the drop in house prices. I now own 60 such properties and the fall can continue for me because I'm buying cheaper every month and I'm definitely still buying.

The only truly safe long term investment is a self owned property portfolio.

Call me if you have £70,000 or more to invest.

  4. Have a purpose or objective. What good is it to buy shares without knowing or having an exit strategy or without having a purpose. My point is this, if you are buying or investing for your retirement, your goals and types of stocks and bonds you would want would be much different than if you were just investing to make a down payment on your first house. There are a ton of different things to consider, but first - why specifically are you investing and for how long. Then you can decide which type of portfolio would best suit your needs.

  5. hire a consultant for that. make sure he is worth the pay for his consultantion as well as your ROI :D

  6. go with what you know.

What products do you use that you like?

Now find out who makes them, run in depth analysis, and use different variables to see how it will hold up against different risk factors.

Investing isn't easy and for every stock you own you should spend about an hour doing research on markets a week. So in a "diversified portfolio" (one with 25 {minimum} different types of stocks and bonds from different sectors and countries) you should spend about 25 hours a week.
