  1. everyone is pretty much right on, esp the guy above me, you have to be able to hit and stomp in poor conditions too otherwise you'll never advance, or be noticed.

another good idea would be to start making some videos, w/all the ability you have to promote yourself nowadays, (youtube, myspace, etc) it would be easier to get  your name out there, go to myspace send your videos to team pages, (ie nitro, burton, etc)  connect w/the team riders on there, and try to get some good footage of you, winning comps never hurts either....  there's lots of ways bro..you just got to be motivated

  2. Pro's hit jumps in all conditions not just the good days. If you can't hit the big jumps on the icy days there are plenty of guys out there that can and will. Even though you are the best of your group or the hot **** on you mountain, trust me there are better out there. Look in to summer camps and keep competing. The only way to get a sponsorship is to get exposure. Keep at it.

  3. The best way to get sponsored is to win the competitions that you enter. Start to enter some bigger name events where the competition is tougher.  Maybe 3-4 a season will let you get some experience.  After you compete consistently at that level you should be able to contact the company sponsors  through your local shops.

  4. Keep competing.  Get as many wins as you can.  Tell your local paper about yourself and they might run a feature that you could use to shop yourself around.

Approach a local board shop and show them your medals or list of prizes or whatever it is and ask them to sponsor you.

Start small, don't go straight to Burton.

  5. You could try knocking up a video and sending it to your local shop and ask them to sponsor you. Also enter local contests and try to get noticed it doesent always matter how high you place just try to have good style and land your tricks. Good luck with the riding.
