Watson ready for the additional workload at Perth – Cricket News Update
Missing out the first two Tests at Brisbane and Adelaide against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SR-Watson-c2558 is reportedly ready, and even fit to bowl extra overs if required at Perth, come the final encounter on Friday.
The statement came after the existing Australian pacers faced significant wear and tear, with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/PM-Siddle-c2197 fatigued with the extra workload in the second game, at Adelaide.
With the current pace battery exhausted, Watson's presence as a bowling option will be mandatory in order to share the workload at Perth.
Feeling up to the task, Watson said, “Absolutely, I understand that could be a possibility and at the moment that's the biggest challenge for Ben and Peter for their mammoth effort in second innings to be able to freshen up as quick as they can.”
“I do understand there will be a possibility of me bowling as many overs as I need to to be able to help the team hopefully win, but in the end my body is on the condition to be able to do it, so I'm certainly fresh over the past couple of weeks compared
to some of the other guys that have been out there,” he further added.
It wasn’t the first time Watson fell to injuries. Last summer he faced a similar calf injury of a higher magnitude and a hamstring tear that forced him out of the entire home season against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750, fortunately this time, his recovery has been
a swift one.
The final game at Perth is very important, given that the winner will take the top spot on the Test Rankings. If the home side decides to enter WACA with only three Pacers, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Watson-c96326 will be required as a key bowling asset for his side.
