It isn't easy, but i saw this video once where some guys quickly put a roll of mentos into a bottle of diet coke, then put the lid on before the reaction could get going.  Then they threw  it off a roof (any high place will do: has to be high enough to break the bottle or cause the top to fall off, though) and BOOM!!! It was just like a rocket.  You have to be VERY quick, however, since the fizzing starts almost right away.  The best way is to make a tube that just fits into the mouth of the pop bottle (2 liter), and pour the Mentos in all at once.  Be careful, however, since the thing could really hurt someone if it hit them directly.
