The Borussia Dortmund CEO has confirmed that the duo is not for sale this summer after learning about an interest from Real Madrid.
Borussia Dortmund CEO, Hans-Joachim Watzke, has warned Real Madrid against making any official move for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robert-Lewandowski-c31255 during the upcoming summer transfer window. He was talking after learning of a reported
interest from the Spanish champions.
Watzke clarified the Whites that Dortmund intend to keep their two star players at the club at least until the end of their contract. He asked the Madrid officials to keep away from the duo as both the players are important to
the club’s ambitions and the Borussians cannot even think to part ways with two of their best players of the 2011/12 Bundesliga season.
The CEO mused that the club are further looking to strengthen their image across Europe and therefore will need the services of top quality players. He told that his purpose is to see his club flying high and will not be pushed
into selling his stars in favour of big money.
Dortmund cannot afford to lose their top goal scorer in the recently concluded campaign especially after Shinji Kagawa’s denial for his deal extension. The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Japan-c2928 international is likely to part ways with the Borussians in favour
of a move to the Premier League possibly to Manchester United.
While talking to EFE, the CEO further added: "You can save yourselves the trouble of making an offer for Piszczek or Lewandowski. We will not sell them for all the money in the world. We do not want to compete with banks, but to
have a strong team."
Lewandowski joined Dortmund in 2010 from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lech-Poznan-c39779 and has so far made 67 league appearances for the club, bagging 30 goals in return. He hammered 22 league goals alone this term from 34 outings and led the Westfalenstadion outfit
to their second successive Bundesliga triumph.
Piszczek also signed for the German champions in 2010 and has four league goals to his name until now from 63 appearances. Both these players will be seen in action in the final of the German Cup against Bayern Munich on May 12.
