Waveguide determined to break maiden in Kevin Lee Memorial Fillies´ Handicap
The David Simcock trained bay filly, Waveguide, had some valuable training sessions during the last couple of weeks and summed a lot of confidence. Today is the time when the three-year-old novice runner has to capitalise on that confidence to bag her maiden
victory in the Kevin Lee Memorial Fillies´ Handicap, scheduled to be held at Newcastle racecourse on Monday, August 27.
To reach the finish line, Waveguide will have to bypass eight worthy rivals. For the second time in her 3-race career, the fantastic filly will face a soft ground. The distance of seven furlongs will be quite easy for her to cover.
The talented daughter of Dubawi out of Million Waves debuted on May 21, 2012, finishing 6th in the 15-runner race of the Win A VIP Day Out @ redcarracing.co.uk Maiden Fillies' Stakes, held at Redcar.
She went on to gain the fifth position against a dozen of rivals in the WaterAid Mildren Construction Maiden Fillies' Stakes that took place at Salisbury on June 17. She improved further and finished 3rd in her third and last start entitled as
Stowe Family Law LLP Maiden Fillies' Stakes.
Now, Waveguide is keen to break her maiden and today’s race seems to be an ideal opportunity for this purpose. At the moment, all the odds go to her favour. It is up to the jockey, Silvestre De Sousa, how better he uses this situation to guide the filly
to the finish line ahead of all.
Among the other runners, Quick Bite looks to be strong enough. The Hugo Palmer trained bay filly finished 7th in each of her last two starts. Earlier, she had gained two consecutive 6th positions.
Unlike Waveguide, Quick Bite has a couple of victories to her name. Thus, she can prove to be a tough rival. The sport experts are expecting a fierce and thrilling battle.
Most of the spectators will be looking forward to see Waveguide registering her first ever success. Overall, the event will give a lot of fun and excitement to sport lovers. Let us catch up the charged action at Newcastle. Good luck to Waveguide.
