Question:

Waxel or Protection Shorts?

I need tailbone protection in skating but am not sure what type to get: the gel/closed foam types or those that come in a pair of shorts. Which is better? Also, will protection shorts such as those from McDavid work? They are for contact sports and figure skating is a medium contact sports... I have the tendency to fall on my tailbone and it was injured before.

  2. I am a figure skater and I have tailbone problems too. I broke my tailbone doing double axels because my butt pad wasn't thick enough. I now use the waxel pads, they come in different thicknesses depending on your weight and what you are working on. I like being able to remove my pads whenever I want because somedays I don't need to wear them. I have never worn the shorts because my coach says that they limit mobility and I have never really wanted to. You can order Waxel pads at www.waxelpad.com but your pro shop might carry them.

  3. THE SHORTS

  4. I fall on my tailbone the most too so I wear a waxel pad. It's funny a few days I didn't wear them and during one of those days I fell backwards DIRECTLY on my tailbone. I just wear it everyday now. ;)

  5. get butt-pads from rainbosports.com

  6. i use a waxel pad!
