  1. All I can do is give a good guess...

    Some collective nouns are inspired by the nouns themselves. For instance, a group of rhinos are called a "crash" and a group of geese are called a "gaggle". Rhinos do crash around a lot and geese, well, they are loud and they straggle when they are walking together. Perhaps they call a flock of crows a "murder" because that is the feeling that they inspire in farmers and gardeners everywhere when they show up and rob gardens. They are very destructive birds, and they do tend to "murder" the garden.


  2. unless its the symbolism with death, these birds even look after & feed old relatives so they are compassionate
