Wayne Rooney, why do people think he is good?

Question

Can anyone explain to me why Wayne rooney is considered a world class player. I am a united fan and i just cant see it. The guy hasn't got a first touch, he finds 5 yard passes extremely difficult and he rarely finishes one on one opportunities. How does he get in the England squad when he doesn't do anything but swear and moan at officials? Can someone please explain to me what makes him in most peoples eyes a world class player.
