http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wayne-Rooney-c36736: Style does not matter if Manchester United keep winning
Wayne Rooney has taken a shot at Manchester United’s detractors, claiming that playing with style is not important as long as his team keeps winning.
Pundits have criticised Manchester United for their poor form in the ongoing 2010-11 season, and many believe that the Manchester United that used to tear teams apart in the past now looks like a mere shadow of their former self. But despite not being at
their best form, the Red Devils continue to churn out results.
United have been beaten only three times in the current season of the Barclays Premier League, making them favourites to go on and lift the Premier League title. They are in a strong position in the FA Cup, having recently defeated archrivals Arsenal to
progress to the semi-finals of the tournament.
The Red Devils recently booked their place in the quarterfinals of the Champions League as well. They won 2-1 on aggregate against French side Marseille, with all three goals coming in the second leg of their round of 16 clash at Old Trafford.
Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney believes that the club’s performances might just be enough to take them to yet another treble. The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international claims that it does not matter whether or not United’s football style is pleasing to the eye,
as long as the Red Devils keep producing favourable results.
Rooney claims he is unconcerned about what critics may say about the team.
He said, “Look at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan. They won the Italian Treble last season. You wouldn't say they were the most entertaining team to watch. But they achieved history. Maybe we do need to kill games off a bit quicker but hopefully we can do that in the future.”
Manchester United currently sit at the summit of the Premier League standings, three points ahead of second placed Arsenal. With the rest of the top four closing in on the Red Devils as well, the current campaign of the Barclays Premier League is heading
for a nail-biting finish.
