Rooney and Welbeck are determined to put to bed the notion that Manchester United are not in the Europa League to win it as the Red Devils have other things on their mind such as doing well in the English Premier League. Ever since
their knockout from the UEFA Champions League, the Red Devils have been seen as an outfit which might field its best players in the Europa League due to the amount of travel and fatigue involved for the squad at the club.

won in its current format. United won their latest Premier League encounter against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 at the weekend but now they face a stern test against Ajax in Holland at the Amsterdam Arena.
Rooney said his comments, "I’m actually really looking forward to playing in the Europa League. It’s a new challenge for all of us and we want to win it. There’s no point being in a competition if you’re not going to try and win
it and I’m sure the manager will put a strong team out. It would be great to be the first United team to win the trophy and that’s our aim."
Welbeck who has teamed up with Wayne Rooney in Manchester United’s attack to produce a combined effort of 21 goals in fifteen matches also complimented his striking partner’s views. Welbeck has taken Old Trafford by storm this
season as he has displaced Javier Hernandez from the first team which his energetic performances for the Red Devils.
Welbeck said, "It was unexpected [being in the Europa League] because obviously we're United and we're required to qualify and get into the next round of the Champions League. Unfortunately we didn’t do that, we got knocked out
and everyone was so down afterwards. We just want to atone by hopefully making amends in the Europa League.”
