Manchester United’s striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wayne-Rooney-c36736 has gone on to claim that the Red Devils can still win the Premier League title, should they stay focused for the remainder of the season.
United are currently sitting in the second spot in the Premier League table, with Manchester City possessing a two point advantage over the Red Devils.
However despite this point difference between the two teams, Rooney believes that United can go on and win the Premier League title, despite only thirteen games being left in the league.
At the same time, Rooney feels that United have the potential to go on and win the Europa League as well, given the squad and mentality that the team possesses.
United went on to win their first Europa League game, as they beat Ajax by two goals to nil in the first leg. The team is more than likely to win the return leg as well, which would see them stroll through to the next round of the tournament.
Despite the pressure set to mount up over the coming weeks, Rooney believes United will be able to stay calm and march on, as they look to win the League and Europa League cup double this season.
When talking about the Europa League and the Premier League, Rooney is quoted to have said: "I've no concerns about it hindering our progress in the league, not at all"
"I'm really looking forward to the rest of this competition. It's a new challenge for all of us.”
"There's no point being in a competition if you aren't going to try and win it and the manager has shown he is going to put out strong teams.”
"It would be great to be the first United team to win this trophy, and that's our aim."
At the moment, United are being rivalled by City in both the Premier League and the Europa League. Should the Red Devils be able to maintain their focus and avoid any slip ups, they could see City have a momentary lapse, which would allow United to take
poll position.
Nonetheless, should City avoid any mishaps or accidents till the end of the season, then United could see out the season without any silverware.
