Wayne Rooney’s first-half strike guided Manchester United to a 1-0 victory in the first-leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final tie against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday evening.
The win puts United in the driver’s seat to qualify for the semi-finals of the competition, as they take a vital away goal into the second leg, which will be played at Old Trafford on 12th April.

Chelsea started the game strongly and applied the early pressure on United. Torres came really close to scoring in the second minute but Ferdinand showed great presence to block the Spaniard’s diving header in front of goal. In the 20th minute,
