Manchester United Manager Sir Alex Ferguson expects Wayne Rooney to hit the green patch of goals, as his form would be vital for them to lift 19th Premier league trophy.
The Manager expects Rooney to replicate the form he managed against Aston Villa in the mid-week, where the 25-year-old striker scored two goals to reward all three points to Red Devils. Manchester United’s next fixture is against Wolverhampton Wanderers,
which is never an easy trip. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 at the Molineux, and Ferguson wants Rooney to keep scoring until the end of the season.
Rooney has failed to live up to the expectations he set up when he scored 34 times last season and just managing 7 times this season. However, his first goal against Villa was outstanding, which showed signs of his former self.
Sir Alex Ferguson has the luxury of having a complete squad, although long-term injured http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Darren-Fletcher-c10361 have returned from their respective injuries and would be fit to play against Wolves.
"Rafael should be OK. He has trained. He should be available against Wolves. I don't think we've got any other injuries from Tuesday night. With Fletcher, we'll assess him today. What happened is that his eye closed and he couldn't see the ball properly.
So we had to take him off. I'm sure he'll be OK," stated Red Devils’ Manager.
However, Ferguson believes it would be Rooney’s form that would be more crucial for the team and stated the way he scored both the goals against Aston Villa shows his true quality. He expects the No.10 to find the confidence to goal more often.
The Manager stated that there are still a lot of games left in the season for Rooney to get his goals going. There are 14 premier league fixtures remaining, along with Champions League Football and the FA cup fixtures and all these fixtures would get him
the play time to score more.
"What Wayne has always had is a fantastic energy to play in a game," added the boss. "He's always committed to doing his best. The bonus is, as we saw the other night, he got two goals,” stated the Manager.
Ferguson pointed out that Rooney’s only consistent season came last years, while in other seasons, he has scored once in every 4-5 games. However, should the English International find consistency this year, there would be no stopping the Red Devils, and
the entire camp would benefit from it.
