The England manager believes that Manchester United’s in-form striker’s comeback to the national side will make the difference as Rooney is set to serve the last match of his suspension.
England have found their goal scoring form a bit wanting as they are struggling to find the killer edge in-front of the opposition net as often as the Three Lions would like. A goal in each game under Hodgson has resulted in two wins and draw but the national side will want to be able to add cushion to their often slender leads.
Roy Hodgson may have choices up front but none of them can be anything more than glorified backups to Wayne Rooney, who was in prolific form for this club, Manchester United, in the 2011/12 Barclays Premier League season.

It is the same thought that Hodgson seems to be harbouring as well as the England manager looks to welcome the striker back into his starting line-up after confirming that Rooney was fit.
Hodgson said, "He is our real ace in the hole because he is very fit and raring to go.”

At the same time he also mentioned that there was no downside to having the Manchester United striker fit and available for selection as he would be an asset to any side.
"You can only benefit from having someone of his quality in your team." Said Hodgson.
It will be interesting to see how England shapes up in their next group match as the Three Lions look to secure a place in the knockout stages of the competition.
