Wayne Rooney is out of form claims Kevin Keegan
The 24-year-old English striker, Wayne Rooney seems to be going through some serious mental stress these days. But, former English team manager, Kevin Keegan has claimed that Rooney’s recent bad performances are not because of the stress created by media
with their comments about his private life but these are due to the fact that the striker is currently out of form.
Wayne Rooney has scored only one goal in his last six games for the Manchester United. Keegan told the reporters that media can’t be blamed for Rooney’s bad performances as a player cannot stop it from covering different aspects of his life. So, Rooney should
instead strive for some better performances rather than getting frustrated by paparazzi photographs.
He added that a player should keep some sort of balance between his professional and personal lives and for a celebrity, it is important to keep his family away from the paparazzi cameras. The former veteran footballer stated that he has studied Rooney’s
case and it is evident that Rooney is out of touch and hasn’t been able to work on improving his play since the World Cup. He should probably take some rest as he needs time to regain his winning form.
Kevin Keegan maintained that Wayne is a great asset for Manchester United but this is the time to improve his confidence level. Rooney’s bad performances are also creating frustration amongst the Manchester United squad as it is affecting the overall performances
and the winning ratio. Meanwhile, Sir Alex Ferguson also commented on the matter saying that Rooney isn’t mentally fit and hence he is not able to give his full to the team. He seems to have some difficulty in keeping up his focus and that is the reason why
he wasn’t able to display his best in the game against Bolton.
It is to be noted that the match between Manchester United and Bolton ended in a 2-2 draw. Although, it was an interesting match but Wayne Rooney seemed a little lost and out of touch. He was substituted by Federico Macheda in the 61st minute. Moreover,
Federico is also suffering from an ankle injury which is certainly not a good sign for the club as its key strikers aren’t able to display their best of forms.
Furthermore, Manchester United’s assistant manager, Mike Phelan has said that the current situation doesn’t seem good for the team and the management is concerned about the fitness of its key players. He added that we are keeping our fingers crossed and
hoping that the players would get physically and mentally fit before the Champions League match against Velencia, this week.
