Wayne Rooney vows to get back to his best
The world class Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has vowed to get back in form and score more goals for the Red Devils after the recent string of disaster that have hit his career.
The player finally signed a long term with the Manchester based club and ended a week of intense speculation and unrest for the Red Devils. Rooney signed a 5 year contract with the club yesterday, keeping him at the club till 2015. By the time this contract
would end, Rooney would be 30 year olds and would’ve spent 11 years for the club, making him eligible for a tribute match as well.
This contract has made Rooney to become the highest paid player in United’s illustrious history and is expected to earn around 150,000 pounds a week. The player only signed the dotted line following assurance by the Glazer Family about investments to secure
the future of the English club.
However, the player will have to wait for another three weeks to come back on the pitch, as the player is expected to sit out the next three weeks on the sidelines because of an ankle injury. It was this ankle issue that has so much media coverage over the
past few weeks. The player contradicted the statements of manager Sir Alex Ferguson, claiming that he has been fit the entire season.
The ankle concern will rule out Rooney for the Manchester Derby played on November 10th, but the English International has a habit of coming back quickly from almost all injuries. However, the player is determined to return to his former best
and prove his place in the first team. He has expressed that he wants to end the embarrassing form which has not seen him score a single goal in open play for the past 7 fixtures.
"I certainly can't wait to pull on the red shirt again. I am gutted to be injured. I just want to be out there playing, get back to form and doing what I do best. And I will be back to my best. I have no worries about that,” claimed the 25 year old. The
player is also well-aware of the impact his comments would’ve made on his team, where he questioned the current quality of squad. The manager has vowed to give the 25 year old all proof he needs. Alongside the backing of former Captain Rio Ferdinand has also
arrived who has extended his hand for support to the English team mate, Rooney who has constantly been lambasted by media.
United supporters may also forgive the outspoken comments of the striker and may sing songs about him once he gets backs to his original best yet, there may also be many discontented fans as well.  Nonetheless the Merseysider believes once he start scoring
goals, those people will also be behind him.
"I am sure the fans have been upset over the past few days with everything they have heard in the media. But I care for this club. I want to be here and I want to continue being successful at this club. It might take time with some fans. But I am going to
be giving 100%, the same as always, to try and build that relationship back," stated the English international.
There is also a good side to this Rooney saga, as the player’s desire to leave the club has led to owners’ decision to invest into the club and bring in new players in order to secure the future of the club. The player confirmed that he had a joint meeting
with the manager, chief executive and the Glazer family and all of them have confirmed that the club is right to win trophies. Rooney added that all of them assured him of future ambiguities and would want to invest in order to get United back to its winning
ways. United is considered to be the most successful British club in history, having won 18 first division titles, 3 Champions league, 8 FA Cups  and 4 Carling Cups.
