Wayne Rooney’s first team place in jeopardy
Manchester United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson has claimed that he is facing obstacles in rejuvenating Wayne Rooney’s goalscoring form.
The English striker of Manchester United has failed to impress so far in the 2010-11 season. Wayne Rooney, who was named Professional Footballers’ Association Player of the Year in 2009-10 season for scoring 34 goals, has failed to hit his best form and
could only score thrice in the season.
It now seems that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wayne-Rooney-c36736’s position in Manchester United first team is in jeopardy as Sir Alex Ferguson’s summer signing Javier Hernandez is waiting in wings to overtake Rooney’s place.
Rooney started for Manchester United in their last Premier League fixture against Blackpool. However, after conceding two goals in the first half, Wayne Rooney was called off in order to bring in Javier Hernandez, who made an immediate impact.
The 22-year-old Mexican centre forward scored the vital equaliser before http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dimitar-Berbatov-c11254 sealed all three points for Manchester United by scoring a last minute goal.
Javier Hernandez has been very impressive at Old Trafford, even though it is his first season in English football; the Mexican international has already scored 10 goals in Manchester United’s colours.
Moreover, Manchester United legendary manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, has hailed Hernandez’s performance and has claimed that the young Mexican is outshining Wayne Rooney.
After the Blackpool game, Sir Alex Ferguson admitted his decision of playing Wayne Rooney on the wings did not work out although the English striker has featured many times on the flanks in the past.
Sir Alex added, “It was no fault of his. The rhythm of our game wasn't right. We were all over the place. We then tried to put him through the middle but, when we were still 2-0 down 20 minutes into the second half, we had to do something and had to gamble.”
Manchester United manager continued, “Chicharito [Hernandez] was a gamble. But of course immediately he went right through and forced a terrific save from their goalkeeper. Then he got the equaliser for us and in fact could have scored four goals. So he
made a great impact.”
