I started 7th grade track 3 weeks ago and I haven't particularily been enjoying it. Every day I listen to the announcements and hope that it's canceled, which probably is a sign that it's not for me. I'm alright at it, but I want to quit. This week, on Monday, I got really bad shin splints and I couldn't walk today without it hurting, and had a little limp. I told my coach and she said just to ice it and it was probably from running on the asphalt track on Tuesday. I also have bowlegs and I think running is making it worse. Another thing is that I'm going to state for piano in 3 weeks and I haven't had time to practice for that. All the lessons and everything is going to amount to around $200 so I don't want to go there and not do good. What are some ways I can tell her I want to quit? She freaked out when my friend quit because of her knees.
