Ways to advertise?

I already have a website www.freewebs.com/animalfriends101 . I put fliers in mailboxes but i don't know what else to do!!! It cant be expensive for im under 13. I haven't gotten any business so i NEED to get the word out!!! Also, how to i get permishion from the manager or whatever to hang up fliers in there store?

Hi Faith

First off, I'd say well done for doing what you're doing and you're not even 13 yet!

Your best bet would probably be to join forums where pet lovers can chat. (Just go to Google and look for "cat forum", "dog forum" or something like that.)

Then just chat about pets with others on these forums, and occasionally encourage people to visit your site.

Also, what about starting a blog on pet problems? You could get a free blog over at blogger.com, and just post a couple of tips every week - but make sure you promote your blog, too, so people know it's there!

(You could do this in forums as well. As long as you're mainly chatting in the forums, people won't usually mind if you put a link to your site at the end of a post - just check the rules of that forum to make sure.)

Here's the thing.

If you want to get your site seen, without wasting all that paper, use traffic exchanges!

I especially like Click thru.  It's easy to use, and there isn't much risk.  However, I must warn you.  When it comes to using traffic exchanges, there are some sneaky people out there, and they'll try to ruin other people's computers by adding infectious sites.

If you find the right sites, (which I have), things will run smoother.

Well the best thing to do if your serious is buy an actual link from GoDaddy.com or something because you don't see many big sites accompanied with FreeWebs. I'm not entirely clear on the web advertising but I'm pretty sure you could e-mail the creator of the site. And about the stores, easy just ask the manager and tell him/her you would be willing to pay(if they decline your free offer).

I went to your website and looked around. Not too bad. You need some animal pics on their though. Too much tie diye and you cant really tell you have anything to do with pets unless you read all the info (which I did)

You also have some typos in there which makes you not seem as professional.

Try putting flyers up at pet stores and at veteranarians and maybe put a small ad in your local paper or free paper.

If you buy a web domain with globat etc you can put up a much better webpage and get some hits on it by advertising your domain name!
